We Can Take Care Of All Your Other Business Tax Needs As Well

Our accountants will prepare, lodge, and maximise your business tax returns for you. As well as that, we can take care of all of your business’ tax obligations for you. It offers you better accuracy in your reporting to the ATO and frees up your time — so you can spend it on your business instead.

GST & Business Activity Statements (BAS) Lodgement

If you’re registered for GST, you’ll need to be lodging your Business Activity Statement (BAS) with the ATO. These typically need to be lodged quarterly. Your BAS will cover your GST paid, your PAYG instalments, your PAYG withholding (if you employ staff), and may cover some other taxes — this is rare though.  Our business accountants can work with you to prepare and lodge your BAS on your behalf.

Tax Audits & Compliance

When it comes to your business and its tax obligations, it can often be better off left to the professionals. You can partner with us to ensure your business is dotting all the Is, crossing all the Ts, and ticking every box as stipulated by the Australian Taxation Office. We’ll work with you to ensure your business is totally compliant. And, if you ever find yourself being audited by the ATO, you can have one of our accountants handle it on your behalf.

Tax Advice, Tailored to Your Business

As experienced, knowledgeable accountants, we know that when it comes to tax and all of your obligations, it can become tricky and confusing, quickly too. You might be totally across GST and BAS, but audits and your compliance obligations are big worries. Maybe you need some support with payroll and lodging your PAYG returns. No matter the concern, our accountants will tailor actionable advice to your needs.

Business Tax Returns: Your FAQs

We’ll need anything relevant to your business’ earnings or expenses. So, your business’ PAYG payments, your total earnings, your assets, your accounts receivable, your stock details.

Your expenses:

  • Home office expenses
  • Car expenses
  • Tax expenses
  • Salaries, wages, super contributions
  • Depreciation on assets

Typically the October following the end of the financial year. However, some smaller businesses will have until February the following year to complete theirs. If you’re unsure, get in touch.

Similar to how an individual lodges a tax return with the ATO detailing their earnings and expenses, companies need to do the same. You’ll report your taxable income, your PAYG instalments, tax offsets, and tax credits, to name a few items. Your company’s tax return is separate to your own as are the earnings.

Generally, businesses will need to lodge these quarterly. The ATO stipulates the due dates for each quarter are as follows:

  • 28th October
  • 28th February
  • 28th April
  • 28th July

Handing your business tax returns over to an accountant firstly frees up your time, so you can spend it on your business instead. As well as that though, we’re more efficient and because it’s our profession, you can rely on us for accuracy — every I is dotted and every T crossed. We’ll also maximise your return and put more cash back in your pockets.
